5 Lands
Riomaggiore
38 km - Is the easternmost village, with a picturesque little harbor and a lively main street
Manarola
40,7 km - Famous for its colorful houses overlooking the sea and its vineyards
Vernazza
50,6 km - Probably the most characteristic and well-known of the Cinque Terre, thanks in part to its natural harbor shaped like an amphitheater. In 2013, the New York Times named it one of the 46 places in the world that are absolutely worth visiting. Vernazza was used as a model for the Pixar film "Luca."
Corniglia
51 km - Known as the "Balcony of the Cinque Terre" for its splendid views, it is the only village without a historic center overlooking the sea
Monterosso al Mare
63 km - Is the largest village, famous for its sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, and picturesque narrow streets.
TIPS FOR THE 5 TERRE
Use the train to get around: you can leave your car in the parking lot at the "La Spezia Centrale" station.
Thanks to the Cinque Terre Express, a train
leaves approximately every 20 minutes connecting La Spezia and Levanto, and the travel time between each village is 2 to 5 minutes.
It's convenient, but very crowded. We highly recommend purchasing the "Cinque Terre Card," available online on the official Cinque Terre National Park website or at Info Points and Tourist Offices at each train station in the Cinque Terre villages, Levanto, and La Spezia.
There's also a variant for trekking enthusiasts, which includes all access to the trails, guided tours, and a reduced price for public museums in La Spezia.
Dress comfortably and in layers.
Strollers are not recommended unless necessary.
Walk along the "Via dell'Amore": this is a 1-kilometer trail nestled in the cliff overlooking the sea, connecting Riomaggiore and Manarola. Included in the "Cinque Terre Trekking Park" program; otherwise, reservations are available for €10.
